Decide NOW!

Successful people achieve great things for themselves and others because they use their God-given ability to plan.

One of the many ways we differ from animals is that our brains have a frontal lobe that houses the ability to contemplate the future. There have been cases where individuals suffered damage to this frontal lobe and lost the ability to think ahead. They could not tell you what they were going to be doing tomorrow. They were trapped in the present.

Daniel Gilbert, in his book Stumbling on Happiness, published by Random House in New York in 2007, reported that about 12% of a person's time is spent thinking about the future. Unfortunately this is only an average. A lot of people do little or no planning. They live from day to day. In fact, some spend more time in the past than they do in the future- reliving their painful or enjoyable experiences, fretting over past mistakes, reviewing injustices inflicted upon them, and so on.

About the only thing that some people do that could be construed as planning is to write lists of things to do. And that's good because at least they know what should be done. But To Do lists do absolutely nothing to further a task. In many cases, they simply frustrate us by reminding us of all the things we haven't done yet.

Take it one step further and decide when you will do the things that really count, and block out the necessary time. Decide now what you will do in the future.

Attitude.

"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing; the last of the human freedoms-to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."
Viktor Frankl

Attitude is everything!! Yes, Everything.!!

It is more vital than events. It's more important than what's happened. Because attitude determines whether we are happy or unhappy, fulfilled or empty, the positive perspective assures us that we can never fail. A hopeful attitude guarantees internal success. Attitude- the altitude adjuster determines whether we fly high or low, crash or soar, glide or slide.

Anybody can have a positive attitude when things are going well. What really matters is its how you act when things are going badly that determines the strength of your character. An appropriate attitude means feeling hopeful in challenging times. Stop yourself. Count your blessings. Look for the good.

Here are the magnificent 7 ways to improve your attitude:

Choose to be Enthusiastic

Corporate presidents voted it the most valuable personality trait. It's the biggest single factor in successful selling. Think enthusiastically. Talk enthusiastically. Become enthusiastic by acting enthusiastic. Your thoughts and actions establish your level of enthusiasm.

Be Alive to Everything You Do

Walk fast. Put a bounce in your step. A vigorous, hearty handshake indicates you are glad to be alive and happy to be with the other person. A good smile radiates enthusiasm. Put spirit into your speech by varying the tempo, raising and lowering the pitch, changing the tone and modulation. Force yourself to act with enthusiasm, and soon you will feel enthusiastic.

Broadcast Good News

No one ever made a friend or accomplished anything worthwhile by transmitting bad news. Good news, on the other hand, promotes good will and spreads enthusiasm. The message, "Hey! I've got good news" gets the attention of everyone. Take sunshine to school or work. Always aim to make the person you talk to feel better than they otherwise would.

The Power of Visualization

Imagination powerfully influences successful outcomes. When imagination and willpower compete, the imagination always wins. Force of will never keep you striving for success, but proper visualization will. All peak performers visualize success. Before you try to do anything, close your eyes and visualize yourself doing it well.

Positive Self-Talk

What did you say to yourself today? Did you moan and groan about everyone at school or work? Did you complain about your parents to your best friend? What we think is 100% reflected in how we feel. If all we think about is negative thoughts, our actions will be negative. Remember "I'm a 10! I'm Healthy! Wealthy! Happy! I do what I ought to do, when I ought to do it, whether I want to or not! No Debate! I love me!"

Love Others

How can we become more loving? By bringing encouragement, optimism, and hope to all that we meet. By helping others feel comfortable in our presence; by spreading joy and goodwill; by being concerned about the wishes and desires of others; by understanding, caring, accepting, and forgiving; by becoming more concerned about helping others achieve their individual desires.

Go, choose your Attitude and choose your own way!

Imagine you’re in Airport. While you’re waiting for your flight, you notice a shop selling cookies. You buy a box, put them in your traveling bag and then you patiently search for an available seat so you can sit down and enjoy your cookies.

Finally you find a seat next to a gentleman. You reach down into your traveling bag and pull out your box of cookies. As you do so, you notice that the gentleman starts watching you deeply. He stares as you open the box and his eyes follow your hand as you pick up the cookie and bring it to your mouth.

Just then he reaches over and takes one of your cookies from the box, and eats it! You’re more than a little surprised at this. Actually, you’re at a loss for words. Not only does he take one cookie, but he alternates with you. For every one cookie you take, he takes one.

Now, what’s your immediate impression of this guy? Crazy? Greedy? He’s got some nerve?! Can you imagine the words you might use to describe this man to your associates back at the office?

Meanwhile, you both continue eating the cookies until there’s just one left. To your surprise, the man reaches over and takes it. But then he does something unexpected. He breaks it in half, and gives half to you. After he’s finished with his half he gets up, and without a word, he leaves.

You think to yourself, "Do this really happen?" You’re left sitting there surprised and still hungry. So you go back to the shop and buy another box of cookies.

You then return to your seat and begin opening your new box of cookies when you glance down into your traveling bag. Sitting there in your bag is your original box of cookies -- still unopened.
Only then do you realize that when you reached down earlier, you had reached into the other man’s bag, and grabbed his box of cookies by mistake.

Now what do you think of the man? Kind? Understanding?

You've just experienced a profound paradigm shift. You’re seeing things from a new point of view.

Is it time to change your point of view?

Now, think of this story as it relates to your business. Perhaps you've been doing something the same way for years, but never stopped to think about how it could be done better. A little bit of research and brainstorming may make you see what you’re currently doing in a whole new way. It will help you to come out of the today’s messy situation of economic gloom.

Seeing things from a new point of view can be very helpful. Possibly, you've been annoyed at one particular client who may have complained about some aspect of your service, but when you actually take the time to understand his frustration and his point of view, you may suddenly experience an entirely different perspective.

After all, he may have just helped you to avoid problems with future customers.

Think outside the box. Be open to suggestions. Be open to changing your point of view. Things may not be what they seem.

This is the time to take action on mistake which we have done and work on that to overcome over the current situation.

1) LOVE CHANGE :
You can love and embrace change or hate and reject change. Change is the only constant happening.

Water is more powerful than rock. Water flows and adapts to its surroundings while retaining its power. Given enough friction, solid rock can turn into a sand pile.

To choke back your resistance to change.
  • Adjust your attitude. Be flexible. Focus on solutions
  • Learn continuously. You'll keep your brain sharp and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Pay attention to trends. Spot them first and adjust your plan before you're forced to
  • Nurture support systems. Change is smoothed with a little help from your friends

Tip - If you're experiencing change in one area of your life, reduce changes in other areas of your life. Don't change jobs, mates, locations at the same time. Routines are your friends when you're in the midst of change.

2) TAKE RISK:

Life is all about taking risks. And you willingly take chances every day. Whether you drive, take public transportation, or walk to work, you are risking getting into an accident. But you go ahead and do it anyway. What separates achievers from ordinary folks is their willingness to take optional as well as necessary risks.

3) MAKE MISTAKES:

Just think of what you can learn from your mistakes. What steps did you take to make the mistake and how do you avoid repeating the same mistake in the future. If you think about it, that's what you do when you learn something new. You take some action or perform a technique. You get a result.

  • If it's the result you want, you make sure that you do it that way every time .
  • If it isn't the result you want, then you stop, figure out what you did that wasn't quite right, adjust and try again.
  • When you make a mistake, go with it. Admit you blew it, look to see why, take action to fix it, learn and move on. Don't be afraid of making mistakes!

4) LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY:

Most of us have one or two areas of knowledge that we strive to know very well — things related to our jobs, of course, and maybe a hobby or two. While it's important to develop a deep understanding of the things that matter most to us, it is just as important to develop a broad understanding of the world in general. There is, after all, a reason the term "well-read" is a compliment.

5) SET GOALS:

The process of setting goals helps you choose where you want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know where you have to concentrate your efforts. You'll also quickly spot the distractions that would otherwise lure you from your course. Properly-set goals can be incredibly motivating, and as you get into the habit of setting and achieving goals, you'll find that your self-confidence builds fast.

6) ASK FOR CRITICISM: Asking for criticism will help you understand the areas that you need to work on to improve yourself. A few pointers on how to deal with criticism:

  • Accept that you are not perfect. Double check your work
  • Listen carefully. Don't take it personally
  • Don't hold a grudge. Clear the air.

Use the six keys and remember the people that are there to help you!

Heart Touching Poem..

Heart Touching...

I was a just-born and she was Twenty-Five,
Though we were we, we were one.
I would cry out in Latin and she would respond in Greek,
I would learn nothing but she never got tired to teach.

I was surrounded by monsters eager to pull my cheek,
but they would vanish the moment I was wet and weep.
She would come running and hold me in her arms,
as if I had won the contest of the charms.

Now I was able to walk and chew,
and hey, I was two.
I and she could now understand each other,
I was her everything and she needed no other.

I would try to walk and fall down,
But knowing she was with me,
the fear of getting hurt was now gone.
We still could not converse that effectively,
But she would understand my needs so easily.

I could now roam about free,
because now I have turned three.
I was ready to join a new world,
my academic life was now gonna mould.

She would dress me as best as a prince,
but when I would come back,
she would need at least an hour to rinse.
I was now able to talk,
I was a ferry and she was my dock.

I still remember the child, whose shirt I had tore,
Hey buddy, I have turned four.
I now came home a little late,
Nevertheless finding her waiting at the gate.
She would hug me and carry me in her arms,
it felt like flying through the farms.
We now did the homework together,
I would spoil the home and she used to work.

Years passed and now I was fifteen,
and with each year I would forget to lean.
I wouldn't care for what she said,
because now I had become mean.
She would ask me to study for a good future,
but I was busy in a different culture.
Now I had many shes in my life,
I dreamed of having one of them as my wife.

I changed a lot which she did not teach,
She would try to hug me but I was out of reach.
She still waited for me at the gate,
but I would look at her with utmost hate.
She would be awake till late in the night,
because I wasn't home, I was in a fight.
She had so much to scold, but she never did say,
hoping to find me better the next day.
Time went on and now I am grown,
lost in the world of my own.

I and she, between us have a river,
I have left her for my career.
When I was young, for me, she sacrificed her ambitions,
but I don't care, I now have my own mission.
I am not with her now, I am in a different city,
she is so old now but I don't even pity.

She needs me now but I am nowhere to find,
in the race for appraisal, I have become blind.
In a few years from now, I will be two,
there will be in my life someone new.
Then I'll forget even to bother,

I am her son and
she is my Mother.

Go someone is still waiting for you

Life - It is all that takes place from the first breath we take to the last breath. This is the shortest and the most effective definition of life. Everything that happens does happen for a reason and mostly there are always four or multiple of four factors that affect us or help us. Like the four seasons, the four planetary positions, the four directions and so on.

Let us divide our lives into 8 broad areas. These are:
  • Career
  • Family
  • Health
  • Wealth
  • Housing
  • Relationships
  • Nutrition
  • Environment
  • Education.

If you were to rate your satisfaction level in all these areas on a scale of 1 to 10, where would you place yourself in the area of Career? I mean how satisfied are you in your career progression on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 means totally dissatisfied and 10 means ecstatic. (like this ask for each area of life) Understanding and knowing is everything.

Do you want to improve your lot?

Do you want more joy, abundance, peace, love, and recognition in your life? Life Management teaches you just how to go about it. It teaches you how to tap your hidden potential. How to develop your life skills. How to manage and avoid anger and frustrations. It empowers you with skills that you can develop and techniques that you can practice at home.

All this knowledge is already inside you. A life skills coach only teaches you how to convert this knowledge into wisdom. How to convert theory into practice. How to achieve measurable results. How to progress from a mediocre life to a brilliant life by using simple skills and techniques.

"The first step in life is the most important one, so take it now."

The Power of Attitude

The Power of Attitude

One of the most wonderful things about having a positive attitude is the number of people it touches, many times in ways you'll never know.

Recently, I stopped by a convenience store to get a newspaper and a pack of gum. The young woman at the check-out counter said, "That'll be five dollars please," and as I reached into my wallet, the thought occurred to me that a newspaper and gum didn't quite make it to five dollars. When I looked up to get a "re-quote", she had a big smile on her face and said, "Gotcha! I got to get my tip in there somehow!" I laughed when I knew I'd been had. She then glanced down at the paper I was buying and said, "I'm sick and tired of all this negative stuff on the front pages. I want to read some good news for a change." She then said, "In fact, I think someone should just publish a Good News newspaper -a paper with wonderful, inspirational stories about people overcoming adversity and doing good things for others. I'd buy one every day!" She then thanked me for coming in and said, "Maybe we'll get lucky tomorrow; maybe we'll get some good news," and she laughed. She made my day.

The following day after my business appointments, I dropped by the same store again to pick up bottled water, but a different young lady was behind the counter. As I checked out I said, "Good afternoon" and handed her my money for the water. She said nothing – not a word, not a smile...nothing. She just handed me my change and in a negative tone, ordered..."Next!"
It hit me right between the eyes: Two people, same age; one made me feel great, and the other, well, made me feel that I had inconvenienced her by showing up.

By the choices we make, by the attitudes we exhibit, we are influencing lives every day in positive or negative ways...our family, our peers, our friends, and even strangers we've never met before and will never meet again.

So when you brush your teeth every morning, and get ready for work, ask yourself this important question, "Who do I want to be today?" "The Grouch" or "The Good News Girl?" Your answer will go a long way toward determining your success in business and in life.
