There are a lot of people who spend extraordinary amounts of time and energy lamenting their fate, and trying to convince others (and themselves) that the world is against them. It's a shame, really, because if they spent just half that energy seeking and seizing opportunity, they would be a lot happier and a lot better off. Opportunity is a wonderful thing, and the best part is that it's everywhere. It's not reserved for the rich, or powerful or smart. It's all around us, and there for the taking. You just have to know how to look for it.
The ability to see and take advantage of opportunity comes with three things - education (formal and informal), initiative and awareness. And each of these are readily available to anyone willing to make the investment. Education takes time and commitment, initiative takes courage, and awareness takes focus. The rest is easy.

Consider these three scenarios:
1. Two men go to a rummage sale. One picks up an old dusty vase ticketed at $20, then sets it down feeling it's not worth the price. The other picks it up, recognizes it as a valuable antique, and gladly pays for it - selling it days later for a hundred times its value.
2. A stranger is seated between two unemployed women in an airplane, and says 'hello' to each. One woman chooses to ignore him and engross herself in her book. The other woman strikes up a conversation, and discovers that he is the recruiting manager for a large company who just happens to have a perfect job for her.
3. Two birds stand on a branch over a wormhole. One becomes distracted by a distant noise and turns its head just as the worm appears. The other swoops down and has its breakfast.
Are these just examples of good luck? Perhaps. But as the old saying goes, "good luck is where hard work meets opportunity." Opportunity is indeed everywhere - but the rest is up to you.
"Don't worry about missing out on an opportunity. It's when you stop looking for opportunity that you should start worrying"

A little boy went into a drug store, reached for a soda carton and pulled it over to the telephone. He climbed onto the carton so that he could reach the buttons on the phone and proceeded to punch in seven digits.
The store-owner observed and listened to the conversation: The boy asked, "Lady, Can you give me the job of cutting your lawn? The woman replied, "I already have someone to cut my lawn."
"Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price of the person who cuts your lawn now." replied boy. The woman responded that she was very satisfied with the person who was presently cutting her lawn.
The little boy found more perseverance and offered, "Lady, I'll even sweep your curb and your sidewalk, so on Sunday you will have the prettiest lawn in all of Palm beach, Florida." Again the woman answered in the negative.
With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver. The store-owner, who was listening to all, walked over to the boy and said, "Son... I like your attitude; I like that positive spirit and would like to offer you a job."
The little boy replied, "No thanks, I was just checking my performance with the job I already have. I am the one who is working for that lady, I was talking to!"

"Daddy," he said, "I'm too tired to pick up my toys."
My immediate inclination was to force him to clean up the room. Instead, I went into the bedroom, laid down, and said, "Ian, come here. Let’s play Humpty Dumpty."
He climbed up on my knees and I said, "Humpty Dumptysat on a wall. Humpty Dumptyhad a great fall." And he fell. Ian laughed and said, "Let's do it again." Well, after the third "fall," I said, "Okay, but first go pick up those toys."
Without thinking, he ran into the living room and in ninety seconds he finished a job that could have taken half an hour. Then he jumped back on my knees and repeated, "Daddy, let’s do it again."
"Ian, I thought you were too tired to pick up those toys." He answered, "I was, daddy, but I just wanted to do this!"
We can finish any job when we have the "Want to!"

Attitude is everything!! Yes, Everything.!!
It is more vital than events. It's more important than what's happened. Because attitude determines whether we are happy or unhappy, fulfilled or empty, the positive perspective assures us that we can never fail. A hopeful attitude guarantees internal success. Attitude- the altitude adjuster determines whether we fly high or low, crash or soar, glide or slide.
Anybody can have a positive attitude when things are going well. What really matters is its how you act when things are going badly that determines the strength of your character. An appropriate attitude means feeling hopeful in challenging times. Stop yourself. Count your blessings. Look for the good.
Here are the magnificent 7 ways to improve your attitude:
Choose to be Enthusiastic
Corporate presidents voted it the most valuable personality trait. It's the biggest single factor in successful selling. Think enthusiastically. Talk enthusiastically. Become enthusiastic by acting enthusiastic. Your thoughts and actions establish your level of enthusiasm.
Be Alive to Everything You Do
Walk fast. Put a bounce in your step. A vigorous, hearty handshake indicates you are glad to be alive and happy to be with the other person. A good smile radiates enthusiasm. Put spirit into your speech by varying the tempo, raising and lowering the pitch, changing the tone and modulation. Force yourself to act with enthusiasm, and soon you will feel enthusiastic.
Broadcast Good News
No one ever made a friend or accomplished anything worthwhile by transmitting bad news. Good news, on the other hand, promotes good will and spreads enthusiasm. The message, "Hey! I've got good news" gets the attention of everyone. Take sunshine to school or work. Always aim to make the person you talk to feel better than they otherwise would.
The Power of Visualization
Imagination powerfully influences successful outcomes. When imagination and willpower compete, the imagination always wins. Force of will never keep you striving for success, but proper visualization will. All peak performers visualize success. Before you try to do anything, close your eyes and visualize yourself doing it well.
Positive Self-Talk
What did you say to yourself today? Did you moan and groan about everyone at school or work? Did you complain about your parents to your best friend? What we think is 100% reflected in how we feel. If all we think about is negative thoughts, our actions will be negative. Remember "I'm a 10! I'm Healthy! Wealthy! Happy! I do what I ought to do, when I ought to do it, whether I want to or not! No Debate! I love me!"
Love Others
How can we become more loving? By bringing encouragement, optimism, and hope to all that we meet. By helping others feel comfortable in our presence; by spreading joy and goodwill; by being concerned about the wishes and desires of others; by understanding, caring, accepting, and forgiving; by becoming more concerned about helping others achieve their individual desires.
Go, choose your Attitude and choose your own way!
