A man visited a barber's shop in his neighborhood to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they started a casual conversation.

As the barber began to work, they started a casual conversation.
They talked about many things. When they eventually touched on the perennial subject of God, the barber was quick to say :
'I don't believe that God exists..'
'How can you say that?' the customer asked.
'Well, you only need to go out in the street to realize that He doesn't exist. Tell me, if He did exist , would there be so much pain and suffering, so many sick, unhappy people and hapless, abandoned children?
I can't imagine loving a God who would permit these things, or be powerless to control them.'
The customer paused, he didn't really want to start an endless argument.
The barber finished his work and the customer left .
Shortly after he stepped out, he saw a man in the street with long, matted, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.
The customer quickly turned back and re-entered the barber's shop ; he said to the barber: who had meanwhile started attending to another customer, 'You know something ? Barbers really do not exist.'
This naturally surprised the barber. He asked, 'How can you say that? I I am a barber, right here, and did I not just work on you ? '
'No, no ! ' the customer exclaimed. 'You see, barbers do not exist because if they did, there would be no such people with long, dirty hair and untrimmed beards such as that man outside.'
'Ah, well, barbers of course do exist! What can I do, if people do not come to me.'
'Yes, Exactly!'- affirmed the customer. 'That's the point! God, too DOES exist! What happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not look for Him.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world.'
'Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you're not willing to even move your feet'.
God will not declare from a roof-top that He exists. He is too shy and humble
for that ; besides, He has given us freedom to choose. He wants to see if we would love Him just for His own sake, and not merely for the sake of His many gifts of life and loved ones, food and water, rain and sunshine....We fail to thank Him even as we receive these...
Whether we believe or don't believe that He exists, He loves us all, just the same,
like even an earthly parent who would love his/her child, regardless of whether that love is reciprocated ! Wouldn't the Heavenly Father's love be much deeper, much more unconditional, than an earthly one's ?
To sum up, happiness is man's eternal and rational pursuit. Eternal because we always seek it - no matter what we do, we want to be happy. And rational because as souls (Sat-Chit-Ananda ), it is our real nature ; we are hard-disked to seek joy. But we need to differentiate joy from fleeting sense-pleasures. Yogic meditation turns us within where ceaseless joy awaits discovery. Sadness, depressiveness or any malignant mood is, Masters tell us, an offense against the ever-blissful nature of Spirit, which is our true identity.

First, plant 3 rows of peas;
- Patience
- Promptness
- Prayer
Next, plant 3 rows of squash;
- Squash gossip
- Squash indifference
- Squash criticism
Then, plant 4 rows of lettuce;
- Let us Obey the Lord
- Let us be Loyal
- Let us be true to our Obligations
- Let us be unselfish
Finish, with 4 rows of turnip;
- Turn up when Needed
- Turn up with a Smile
- Turn up with a Vision

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.
My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, 'This is the receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.'
I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.
Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section. The angel then said to me, 'This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them.
I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.
Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. 'This is the Acknowledgment Section,' my angel friend quietly admitted to me.
He seemed embarrassed 'How is it that there is no work going on here?' I asked.
'So sad,' the angel sighed. 'After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.'
'How does one acknowledge God's blessings?' I asked.
'Simple,' the angel answered. Just say, 'Thank you, Lord.'
'What blessings should they acknowledge?' I asked.
'If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy
And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.'
'If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day ' If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.'
'If you can attend a place of worship without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world .'
'If your parents are still alive and still married ...you are very rare.
'If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're
unique to all those in doubt and despair.'
OK, what now? How can I start?
If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone is thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.
Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.
Acknowledge Dept.: 'Thank you Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people to share it

Kindness
One day a woman was walking down the street when she spied a beggar sitting on the corner. The man was elderly, unshaven, and ragged. As he sat there, pedestrians walked by him giving him dirty looks they clearly wanted nothing to do with him because of who he was - a dirty, homeless man. However, when she saw him, the woman was moved to compassion.
It was very cold that day and the man had his tattered coat - more like an old suit coat rather than a warm coat - wrapped around him. She stopped and looked down. "Sir?" She asked. "Are you all right?"
The man slowly looked up. This was a woman clearly accustomed to the finer things of life. Her coat was new. She looked like that she had never missed a meal in her life. His first thought was that she wanted to make fun of him, as so many others had done before. "Leave me alone," he growled.
To his amazement, the woman continued standing. She was smiling - her even white teeth displayed in dazzling rows. "Are you hungry?" She asked.
"No," he answered sarcastically. "I've just come from dining with the president. Now go away."
The woman's smile became even broader. Suddenly the man felt a gentle hand under his arm. "What are you doing, lady?" The man asked angrily. "I said to leave me alone."
Just then, a police officer came up. "Is there any problem, ma'am?" He asked.
"No problem here, officer," the woman answered. "I'm just trying to get this man to his feet. Will you help me?"
The officer scratched his head. "That's old jack. He has been a fixture around here for a couple of years. What do you want with him?"
"See that cafeteria over there?" She asked. "I am going to get him something to eat and get him out of the cold for awhile."
"Are you crazy, lady?" The homeless man resisted. "I do not want to go in there!" Then he felt strong hands grab his other arm and lift him up. "Let me go, officer. I did not do anything."
"This is a good deal for you, jack," the officer answered. "Do not blow it."
Finally, and with some difficulty, the woman and the police officer got jack into the cafeteria and sat him at a table in a remote corner. It was the middle of the morning, so most of the breakfast crowd had already left and the lunch bunch had not yet arrived. The manager strode across the cafeteria and stood by the table. "What is going on here, officer?" He asked. "What is all this. Is this man in trouble?"
"This lady brought this man in here to be fed," the police officer answered.
"Not in here!" The manager replied angrily. "Having a person like that here is bad for business."
Old jack smiled a toothless grin. "See, lady. I told you so. Now if you will let me go. I did not want to come here in the first place."
The woman turned to the cafeteria manager and smiled. "Sir, are you familiar with eddy and associates, the banking firm down the street?"
"Of course i am," the manager answered impatiently. "They hold their weekly meetings in one of my banquet rooms."
"And do you make a good profit from providing food at the weekly meetings?"
"What business is that of yours?"
"I, sir, am Penelope Eddy, president and CEO of the Company."
"Oh."
The woman smiled again. "I thought that might make a difference." She glanced at the cop who was busy stifling a giggle. "Would you like to join us in a cup of coffee and a meal, officer?"
"No thanks, ma'am," the officer replied. "I am on duty."
"Then, perhaps, a cup of coffee to go?"
"Yes, ma'am. That would be very nice."
The cafeteria manager turned on his heel. "I will get your coffee for you right away, officer."
The officer watched him walk away. "You certainly put him in his place," he said.
"That was not my intent. Believe it or not, I have a reason for all this." She sat down at the table across from her amazed dinner guest. She stared at him intently. "Jack, do you remember me?"
Old jack searched her face with his old, rheumy eyes "I think so; I mean you do look familiar."
"I am a little older perhaps," she said. "Maybe I have even filled out more than in my younger days when you worked here, and I came through that very door, cold and hungry."
"Ma'am?" The officer said questioningly. He could not believe that such a magnificently turned out woman could ever have been hungry.
"I was just out of college," the woman began. "I had come to the city looking for a job, but I could not find anything. Finally, I was down to my last few cents and had been kicked out of my apartment. I walked the streets for days. It was February and I was cold and nearly starving. I saw this place and walked in on the off chance that i could get something to eat."
Jack lit up with a smile. "Now I remember," he said. "I was behind the serving counter. You came up and asked me if you could work for something to eat. I said that it was against company policy."
"I know," the woman continued. "Then you made me the biggest roast beef sandwich that I had ever seen, gave me a cup of coffee, and told me to go over to a corner table and enjoy it. I was afraid that you would get into trouble. Then, when I looked over, I saw you put the price of my food in the cash register. I knew then that everything would be all right."
"So you started your own business?" Old jack said.
"I got a job that very afternoon. I worked my way up. Eventually, I started my own business that, with the help of god, prospered."
She opened her purse and pulled out a business card. "When you are finished here, I want you to pay a visit to a Mr. Lyons. He is the Personnel Director of my Company. I will go talk to him now and I am certain he will find something for you to do around the office." She smiled. "I think he might even find the funds to give you a little advance so that you can buy some clothes and get a place to live until you get on your feet and if you ever need anything, my door is always opened to you."
There were tears in the old man's eyes. "How can I ever thank you," he said.
"Do not thank me," the woman answered. "To God goes the glory. Thank God. He led me to you."
Outside the cafeteria, the officer and the woman paused at the entrance before going their separate ways. "Thank you for all your help, officer," she said.
"On the contrary, Ms. Eddy," he answered. "Thank you. I saw a miracle today, something that I will never forget. And thank you for the coffee."
She frowned. "I forgot to ask you whether you used cream or sugar. That is black."
The officer looked at the steaming cup of coffee in his hand. "Yes, I do take cream and sugar - perhaps more sugar than is good for me." He patted his ample stomach.
"I am sorry," she said.
"I do not need it now," he replied smiling. "I have got the feeling that this coffee you bought me is going to taste as sweet as sugar."

Once a boy went to a shop with his mother.
The shop keeper looked at the small cute child and showed him a bottle with sweets and said 'Dear Child...you can take some of these sweets...
but the child didnt take them. The shop keeper was surprised, such a small child he is and why is he not taking the sweets from the bottle. Again he said take the sweets... this time the mother also heard that and said... beta take the sweets.
Yet he still didnt take any...
The shopkeeper seeing the child not taking the sweets... he himself took the sweets and gave to them to the child... the child was happy to get two hands full of sweets.
When they returned back home, Mother asked the child... Why didnt you take the sweets... when shop keeper told you to take...
Can you guess the response:-
Child replies... Mom! my hands are very small and if i take the sweets I can only take a few.. but now you see when the kind shop keeper gave with his big hands...
how many more sweets i got!
Moral:
When we take we may get little but when God gives...HE gives us more, beyond our expectations.... more than what we can hold..........

May you find serenity and tranquility
in a world you may not always understand.
May the pain you have known
and the conflict you have experienced
give you the strength to walk through life
facing each new situation with courage and optimism.
Always know that there are those
whose love and understanding will always be there,
even when you feel most alone.
May a kind word,
a reassuring touch,
and a warm smile
be yours every day of your life,
and may you give these gifts
as well as receive them.
May the teachings of those you admire
become part of you,
so that you may call upon them.
Remember, those whose lives you have touched
and who have touched yours
are always a part of you,
even if the encounters were less than you would have wished.
It is the content of the encounter
that is more important than its form.
May you not become too concerned with material matters,
but instead place immeasurable value
on the goodness in your heart.
Find time in each day to see beauty and love
in the world around you.
Realize that what you feel you lack in one regard
you may be more than compensated for in another.
What you feel you lack in the present
may become one of your strengths in the future.
May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility.
Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience.
May you find enough inner strength
to determine your own worth by yourself,
and not be dependent
on another's judgment of your accomplishments.
May you always feel loved.

TAKE OFF YOUR BLINDFOLD
His dad takes him into the forest, blindfolded, and leaves him, he was required to sit on a stump the whole night and not to take off the blindfold until the rays of sun shine through it, he cannot cry out for help to anyone.
Once he survives the night he is a man. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, each lad must come into his own manhood. The boy was terrified and could hear all kinds of noise. Beasts were all around him; maybe even some human would hurt him. The wind blew the grass, and it shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold, it was the only way he could become a man.
Finally, after a horrific night, the sound of the night disappeared; he could feel the warmth of the sun, he removed his blindfold. It was then that he saw his father sitting on the stump next to him, keeping watch the entire night.
We are never alone. Even when we do not know it, God is always sitting on the stump beside us to watch and protect us; all we have to do is to take off our blindfolds.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God.

See God in Every Person
I invite you to try an experiment today. It's very simple and won't take up any of your time. Here's all you have to do:
see God in every person who crosses your path today.
Make believe every person you see has a large name tag that says "God" on his or her chest. If it is inconsistent with your religious beliefs to see any human as God, make believe the name tag says "Created by God."
In this experiment, there are no exceptions. When you see your spouse or your child, you are seeing God. As you pass strangers on the street, look at each as if you are looking at God.
If you're in a crowded public area and some loudmouth is using a cell phone, just look at that person knowing you are seeing God, or a creation of God. You know what you would say or think about that person if you weren't doing this experiment.
But what would you say if you were seeing God in that person?
Would you mumble profanities or criticize the person for being an inconsiderate jerk?
As you walk through your offices at work, see the name tag clearly on each person and know that you are seeing God as each person passes. How loving and caring would you be if you could see God in every person? The moment you focus on God, your mind tends to stop. The judgment stops, and all you recognize is love.
You'll be amazed at how your world changes when you see God in every person. You'll be able to look past the labels you have assigned to these people - Caucasian, African-American, pretty, ugly, fat, thin, sloppy, neat, generous, selfish, etc.; you may notice some of these characteristics, but they won't be important to you. You will see through them to the divinity within.
With your new focus, your heart is joined with each person and you feel connection, not separation. You have no interest in criticizing. You are full of compassion. You project the love that is in you and that love is reflected back to you.
This really isn't an unusual experiment or a stretch of the truth. Many religions and spiritual traditions believe that everything IS God, that the life force or energy we refer to as God appears as every bit of matter in the universe.
Even if you believe that you are somehow separate from God, you probably believe that you are created by God, in the image of God. Thus, there is an element of the Divine in every human being.
I'll be the first to admit that this experiment can present some difficult challenges. While you may be able to see God in your child or in a stranger on the street, you might have considerable resistance to seeing God in those whose behavior
you find cruel or immoral - such as those who have committed murder, rape, or have molested a child.
I don't have an easy answer for you; each person must come to his or her own conclusions. However, something tells me we are called to see God in every person, to see beyond behavior to the divine love that connects all of us.
See God in every person who crosses your path today. You'll have a day unlike any you've ever experienced. Maybe you'll want to continue the experiment beyond one day. The only "entity" that will raise an objection is your MIND, which is
conditioned to see differences and to judge others.
If you're ready to get a glimpse of your true nature, and your capacity for love and joy, begin this experiment immediately.
Mohandas Gandhi said it beautifully: "If you don't find God in the next person you meet, it is a waste of time looking for him further."

Connecting with God
Who looks outside — dreams.
Who looks inside — awakes.
— Carl Gustav Jung
The single most important thing you can do in your life is to connect with your source. Greater than anything you desire, connecting with source allows you to develop a relationship with the infinite wisdom of the Universe. By staying connected you will be in the flow and everything comes easily and quickly to you.
You have heard it said, go with the flow. This doesn’t mean follow the masses — it means to connect with your source and go with its flow — which is unique for each and every one of us. Where do you think you really come from? Your parents? Yes, you share their DNA and your body comes from their joining. But where does the you that stares out from behind those eyes live? In your cells, in your DNA, your central nervous system? Do you live in your mind? Are you your mind?
Have you ever noticed that when you experience anything — a moment, an event or circumstance and that while you participate and enjoy or not these things that occur; that part of you sits back and watches everything? Many call this the observer, the witness, your spirit, your soul, whatever name you choose — it is that part of you that is always connected to source — it stands back and witnesses everything. Your eternal being resides here and always stays in direct communication with source for without that connection you would die.
If we are always connected why must we then connect? Does this seem confusing to you? Yes, you are always connected with source, period and nothing can sever that relationship. But the part of you that stays connected is not in your conscious mind. When i talk about connecting with source, i mean consciously. For too long we have made the part of our being that is connected with source sit in the back of the bus. Many things — your life falls apart, you get sick, things don’t go your way, you lose your job, your lover, your house, whatever is consuming your life.
The father-mother God of your being won’t stay in the back of the bus for long — especially if something in you awakens. Yes, you can have all that you desire but not at the cost of your soul.
The relationship with source is different for everyone. It doesn’t take your believing in source for source to empower your being. Nor can you tell another person how their relationship with source is supposed to be. It is a very individual experience. It is the most intimate of relationships you will ever experience. Source never leaves you, never lies to you, and never makes you feel guilty. Source loves you unconditionally and always says yes to you — even if your belief is such that you feel the universe says no. The universe will support whatever you believe to be true.
An important fact to understand: the universe always says yes even when you perceive it to be no. When you experience no, what you are experiencing is your belief in no so the universe says yes by supporting your no. You define your world. Source does not do that for you. Source is not your ego, your personality or any trait or characteristic of your being. Source is not your belief structure or your religious undertakings. Source is Divine Infinite Wisdom. Some call it God, Energy, Allah, Yahweh — it is known by many names or none.
You can ask your source about anything and it will answer. It answers by giving you a feeling. If you feel calm and peaceful — that is your answer — which can be interpreted as yes. If you feel more confused and at unrest — this can be interpreted as no.
As you develop your own relationship with your source you will find what form of communication works for you. There are no set rules and this is a very personal relationship — one that no one but you and source together share. The point is this: more than a body, more than a personality, or an ego, you are a divine child of the universe with an eternal spirit.
You come from source, you exist because of source, and someday you return to source. Critical for your well-being as well as for your endeavours in this journey of creating your reality and learning to become the real you — the divine child of the universe — connecting with your source is a step you must make on your own.
This is a very personal journey, no man; woman or child can come between you and your Source. Death cannot separate you from your source. Source is the very source of your being. The part of you that does not reside in the physical realm — the part of you that constantly maintains twentyfour hour access to all things, known and unknown, seen and unseen stands a mere breath away.
