Discover The 2012 Mayan Prophecies

By Samuel Rickter

Today there is a lot of discussion about what events are going to occur on or around 21st December 2012. Most of the theories have their origin in Mayan culture, but very few people actually understand what the 2012 Mayan prophecies actually state.

The Mayans had an incredibly advanced civilization for their time. They were experts in the study of our solar system and astronomy. Many of their rituals and architecture were created with the heavens in mind. They believed that planets and stars had a great effect on the human mind and consciousness.

They were aware that our sun synchronizes with the centre of the galaxy every 6, 000 years and that this can create a change on a planetary scale here on Earth as the sun will give off more solar flares and its magnetic field can alter dramatically. They believed that this galactic alignment may result in a massive cosmic event that results in dramatic physical changes on our planet.

The Mayan prophecies also mention a "time of no time". This is believed to refer to a 20 year period that leads up to the end of their long-count calendar in December 2012. During these years they believed that solar winds would be visible from the Earth and would have such an effect that man would have a greater understanding of his place in the universe. It is actually a myth that people believe the Mayans predict the end of the world is coming, they actually state that it is the end of one cycle and the beginning of the next.

This new era that is approaching is referred to as the Golden Age. It is in this time that human civilization changes from the current simplistic materialistic society to one that has a much greater level of enlightenment. The prophecies state that this is only one of many such steps in human evolution, each of which progresses the human psyche and mind.

In 2012 they predict that it will be another manifestation of a quantum leap in human consciousness and development which will lead to greater harmony and compassion.
